The Omegle alternative for random video chat
Omegle closed in 2023, but random video chat didn't have to end. talktostrangersnow works the way Omegle did: one click, one random stranger on camera, and you can skip to someone new at any time.
By starting a chat, you confirm you're 18+ and will be respectful. To keep everyone safe, our team moderates video chats and may see their messages and occasional camera snapshots. We never record or save your video calls.
What happened to Omegle?
Omegle launched in 2009 and became the best-known site for random video chat with strangers. It shut down in November 2023, when its founder said the cost and stress of running it, and of fighting its misuse, had become too much. Since then, many people have been looking for a site that works the same way.
talktostrangersnow is an independent site and is not affiliated with Omegle. It offers the same kind of random one-on-one video chat, built from scratch for today's browsers and phones.
What we kept from Omegle
- Random one-on-one video chat with a stranger, in one click
- The Stop / New button to end a chat and find someone else
- Interests, to be matched with someone who likes the same things
- A text-only option for when you'd rather not use a camera
What's different
- Works in the browser on iPhone and Android, with nothing to install
- Video chats are moderated live, and people who break the rules are banned
- A red Report flag on the stranger's video ends the chat straight away
- Auto-match connects you to someone new 3 seconds after a chat ends
- Video is encrypted and never recorded
